Hi everyone,
I just joined this tribe.
I have experienced some of what you have listed above on the opening page of this tribe. I have it mostly when I sleep or almost asleep at night. My legs or arms jerk. It sometimes freaks me out and wakes me up when that happens. I never use to have this and I noticed it has been happening more often. Does anyone know what causes this and if there is anything can be done about it? I would like to know about others experiences with this and if anything has helped them. Nice to meet everyone!

Re: Hi, New here
Fri, November 19, 2004 - 9:55 AMI posted before that a calcium/magnesium supplement helps a bit. Also I have soaked in an epsom salts bath and that help a little too, but overall I haven't really found a solution yet. -

Fri, November 19, 2004 - 10:29 AMi find that puchning yourself, although inneffective, is certainly satisfying . . .
i am only half joking.
there are several meds that doctors prescribe for it . . . i had an rx for mirapex. It seems to work, but unfortunately takes about an hour to kick in. Percocet works even better & more quickly, but it is difficult to get an RX for, especially if you are young . . . -

Fri, November 19, 2004 - 6:41 PMI've find that pounding my leg muscles gives some temporary relief from the creepy crawly feelings. It's a good thing I'm a masochist.
